Hey folks, Richard here at Sandpaper Bay. Here to give you the tip of the week, I’ve got my friend AJ Gohill with me.
Many of you see him on his little tee-up. Tee-up grandstand. There you go. Professional hacker. The professional hacker. There you go.
Well, you got the professor against the professional. So this is going to be a challenge for both of us, right? It is. It is. So you were telling me earlier today that you hit your best 7-iron ever. I did. I got it on camera too. 166. 166. Never done that before. So am I getting better, or was it a fluke? I’m thinking it’s more of an anomaly. You’ve only done it one time, but my challenge today is for me to get you to hit it 166 again, right? Yes, that’s what I was hoping for. All right, can I watch you make one swing? Yes, sir. All right, that’d be perfect. Thank you. Okay, let’s see. Take these off. You won’t look cool. I can’t see where they are. What do you think? I think that’s about 148. That’s still not bad. My average used to be 140. Okay.
So only thing that I would tell you to do, if you want to really increase a little bit more distance, try to work on your extension in your swing. And what I mean by that, everybody focuses on the left arm. Okay. Trying to keep the left arm. Let me borrow my clock. Yes, sir. Okay. So everybody focuses on trying to keep the left arm straight, right? To get a little bit more power. And do what the big boys do on the tour, is they try to get a little bit more separation in the right arm. If you keep the right arm away from you, the left arm doesn’t break down. All right? So let’s focus on the right arm creating some distance between the shoulders. And I think you’re going to be a lot more successful in hitting those long drives. And AJ? Yes, sir. You’re going to be more successful of repeating that 7-iron 166 yards or 176 yards. Beautiful. Thank you, Professor. You’re welcome. Appreciate it.
