On this edition of Tee It Up Grand Strand we visit our friends at Prestwick Country Club.  Prestwick is a golf course that is high on many golfers lists of must play golf courses in the Myrtle Beach area.  No doubt that the challenge and beauty of this Pete and P.B. Dye designed golf course is a huge reason golfers come back to play again and again, but the experience golfers get starts long before they hit their first shot or make their first putt.  It all starts the moment they come on to the property.

When golfers pull into the entrance to Prestwick they are greeted with a friendly smile by the guard at the guard gate.  The next stop is the bag drop where the staff eagerly waits to help get golf clubs on golf carts.  We have not even made it to the clubhouse and golfers will already feel welcome.

As golfers make their way into the clubhouse the first thing they will notice is the fully stocked pro shop.  Inside there are shirts, hats, jackets, and even shoes (for the forgetful golfer).  Golfers also will have a selection of golf balls and gloves along with tees and ball markers if those are things they need to play with or simply to take home as a souvenir.

After checking in golfers then have the opportunity to head to the spacious and well maintained practice area just down the street from the clubhouse. The driving range boasts a short game practice area complete with green side bunker and putting green giving golfers the opportunity to practice every kind of shot they may need on the course before teeing off.

We know what’s up next is the highlight of the day, golfers head to the first tee box to take on the challenge that is Prestwick Country Club.  So we will skip ahead to after the round is complete. The bar and grill area is as good as it get in the clubhouse at Prestwick.  It starts with the amazing view from the back porch that overlooks both No.9 and No.18 and the pond that runs between them.  It continues to impress with the great food and beverage options provided but he chef and staff in the kitchen.  These guys are used to preparing private dinners for the banquet room that is off to the side of the bar.  Of course they can prepare fantastic food for golfers to enjoy as they sit back and relax after a fun day of golf on a great golf course.
