The community around Sandpiper Bay Golf and Country Club is a tight-knit little place and the golf course prides itself of being heavily involved in the events of the area.  On this edition of Tee It Up Grand Strand we are going to brag on the great works that the management and staff have accomplished in the Sunset Beach, North Carolina area.  We know that General Manager, Tim Tilma and his staff would never toot their own horn so being that it is Christmas time and the season of giving, we are going to do that for them right now.

For over twenty five years, Sandpiper Bay has been greeting visitors and Members with an exceptional course and a time-honored tradition of Southern Hospitality. Their goal has always been to provide first rate customer service to everyone that walks through the front door.  They have done such an exceptional job that Sandpiper Bay has a reputation of one of the most golfer friendly courses in the area.  That mentality has spread outside the confines of the golf course and has stretched out into the community.

PGA Head Professional, Brett Thomaswick told us “Sandpiper Bay’s social activities revolve around this great clubhouse with the wrap-around porch and large spaces for meetings and functions.  In addition to hosting many activities for our 200 plus members, we have made an effort over the years to become the home to several charity events throughout the year.”

There are many charity events held in the clubhouse, some golf related and some not.  Either way the groups get the same incredible customer service and hospitable atmosphere.  The most important thing is the involvement in the community and the desire to help give back by offering up the use of the facility to help in any way they can.

The list of groups helped by Sandpiper Bay Golf and Country Club is long so we will just mention a few of the big golf outings that take place each year at the course.  The Habitat For Humanity golf tourney has turned into a big success for the local chapter.  The Brunswick Elks Club annual outing always has a big turnout as does the First Tee of Brunswick County charity outing.  These are just a few of the many, many events hosted by the course.  They really have invested themselves into the community.
