Diamondback Golf Club at Woodland Valley has to be on every golfers summertime golf list if they are in Myrtle Beach.  On this edition of Tee It Up Grand Strand we take a visit to this par 72 Russell Breeden design and talk with General Manager Patrick Wilkinson.  He and his staff have Diamondback in great shape and are treating their golfers to some of the best customer service along the Grand Strand.

“If you have not experienced Diamondback Golf Club yet now is a great time to check us out” said Wilkinson.  “We have to golf course is wonderful playing condition right now and the summer rates make it a great value to come out and see us!”

The experience starts with the clubhouse.  The very large and beautiful building provides a perfect welcome to golfers as they arrive.  The golf shop staff is very friendly and helpful getting golfers checked in and ready for their tee time.  Just across the hall is the comfortable setting with a fireplace and several television in the seating area.  The bar is spacious and the service is great.  Golfers need to take advantage of the daily lunch specials as well as the drink specials.

Once golfers hit the first tee it wil not take them long to see what is so special about playing Diamondback Golf Club.  There are some homes, but not many.  The ones that are on the course are set back enough that they do not intrude on play.  It certainly does not feel like playing in the back yards of the homes on the course.  This is a great feature of playing Diamondback.

The course itself is a fun and different layout.  Cut into the trees of what was a breathtaking forest just off on Highway 9 in Loris, Diamondback gives players a look at a very natural setting.  Golfers are treated to fairways the cut through the trees and natural foliage.  They also will see plenty of natural landscaping as they wind through the just under 7,000 yard layout.

The natural streams and wild grass gives the course a very natural look.  Then add in strategically placed bunkers and some man made water hazards and golfers will be presented with a fun and challenging 18 holes.  There are multiple tee boxes to choose from so golfers from all ages and ability levels can enjoy the round.
