We have been waiting for this since the middle of May here on Tee It Up Grand Strand.  Arcadian Shores Golf Club will be re-opening very soon!!!  The classic Rees Jones design has gone under some major reconstruction over the past 3 months and everyone in the golf community around the beach is excited to see what the final results are going to look like.  With a new clubhouse, new greens, new cart paths and many other updates and upgrades Arcadian Shores will be a touch tee time to get this fall for sure.

The first thing golfers will notice as they drive into the entrance to Arcadian Shores is the brand new clubhouse.  It is a site to see for sure.  Long gone is the boring, original building.  In its place is a beautiful clubhouse complete with a fully stocked golf shop, a full service restaurant and dining area complete with flat screen TVs and comfortable seating for golfers to enjoy themselves after their round.  It also will boast a very nice back porch patio style seating area overlooking the driving range and the 18th green.  It really is going to be something to see!

Of course the most exciting part of the remodel in the new putting surfaces.  These new Sunday Ultradwarf Bermuda grass greens should be the talk of the Grand Strand once golfers get the chance to play them.

“The new Sunday Ultradwarf Bermuda are really going to be something the golfers will love,” said Frank Coughlin, PGA Head Professional at Arcadian.  “This project has made for a very long spring and summer for all of us here, but we are super excited to get the course open again and get feedback from our golfers on what they think of the changes.”

New cart paths were another piece that was really needed at Arcadian.  As with many older courses, time and weather take their toll on the paths. Now the clean and smooth paths will wind through the tree lined fairways and curve around the water and many sand bunkers on the course.

We cannot forget the work done to the fairway bunkers and sand traps as well.  Not much redesign done here but plenty of cleaning up and refiling going on to make the bunkers look and play better all the way around.  It will really add to the aesthetics as golfers look down the fairway from the tee box.

Re-open date is set for September 9th if the weather cooperates with the last bit of work that needs to be done.  For more information or to make a tee time visit the website www.arcadianshoresgolf.com or call the golf shop at 843.449.5217.
